I tap the microphone, but recording doesn’t start
Make sure Taskdrop has microphone and speech recognition access: iOS Settings → Taskdrop. The app’s home screen has an “Open settings” button.
Does Taskdrop work offline?
You can record without a connection: the text is saved on your device and turned into tasks once you’re online. If you don’t want to wait, save the recording as a plain text task. Right after an offline recording you can tap “Cancel capture” to delete it.
Where does my dictation go?
Apple converts speech to text. To turn the text into tasks, Taskdrop sends it to its server and to OpenAI. The Taskdrop server does not store the text. Don’t dictate passwords, card numbers or other sensitive data. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Why is a task highlighted and “flagged for review”?
Taskdrop marks tasks it isn’t sure about: the date has already passed, the time is ambiguous, or recognition was uncertain. Open the task and fix it if needed.
Taskdrop got the date or time wrong
Open the task and correct the date. Taskdrop counts relative words like “tomorrow” from the moment you dictated, even if the recording was processed later.
A task didn’t appear in Calendar
Taskdrop adds tasks with a date to Calendar. Check Calendar and Reminders access in iOS Settings. If the selected calendar was deleted or became unavailable, Taskdrop offers a fallback.
I see duplicates in Calendar
Each export creates a new entry. Delete the extra entry in Calendar — Taskdrop never deletes Calendar entries itself.
How much can I dictate at once?
Up to 2,000 characters — about two minutes of speech. A counter appears near the end, and recording stops automatically at the limit.
“Processing is temporarily unavailable”
The server is limiting requests or is temporarily unavailable. The recording is saved and will be processed automatically later, when you open the app or get back online.
Data and deletion
Taskdrop has no account. Tasks are stored on your device. You can delete them in Settings → “Data & Privacy” → “Delete All Tasks”, or by deleting the app. Entries already added to Calendar and Reminders remain.
