Wax Lab does not collect or transmit any data to external servers. Everything stays on your device — always.
We take your privacy seriously. This page explains what data Wax Lab stores, how it is used, and where it lives.
1. Data We Collect
Wax Lab does not transmit any data to external servers. All data is stored exclusively on your device.
The app stores locally:
- Session state — selected wax type, calculator settings, recipe progress
- Candle journal — entries you create (name, scent, parameters, notes)
- Candle photos — stored in the app’s private folder on your device
- Onboarding flags — whether you have completed the welcome screen
- Purchase status — cached info about Wax Lab Pro (source of truth is Apple)
2. Notifications
The app requests permission to send local notifications to remind you when your candle is ready after the curing period.
- Notifications are generated on-device, not from a server
- We do not track whether you open notifications
- You can revoke permission at any time in iOS Settings
3. Photos
If you add a candle photo to your journal:
- The app requests access via the native iOS PhotosPicker
- The selected photo is saved in the app’s private container (not in your photo library)
- Photos never leave your device
4. Purchases (StoreKit)
Wax Lab Pro purchases are processed by Apple StoreKit. We never see or store your payment details — everything is handled by Apple.

5. Analytics & Tracking
Wax Lab does not use any analytics SDKs, advertising identifiers, or cross-app tracking.
- No Firebase / Amplitude / Mixpanel
- No ads
- No data shared with third parties
6. Children & Safety
Wax Lab is a candle-making guide that involves working with hot wax, open flame, and heat sources. Due to the nature of these activities:
- The app is intended for users 16 years of age and older
- Users under 16 may only use this app under direct parental or adult supervision
- Parents and guardians are fully responsible for ensuring safe conditions when minors participate in any activity described in the app
- We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13
7. Disclaimer of Liability
Wax Lab provides informational guidance only. By using the app, you acknowledge and agree that:
- All candle-making activities are performed at your own risk
- We are not responsible for any damage, injury, fire, or other harm resulting from following the recipes, instructions, or tips provided in the app
- Results may vary depending on materials, equipment, environment, and user skill
- Always follow basic fire safety rules: never leave melting wax unattended, keep flammable materials away, have a fire extinguisher nearby
- The app does not replace professional training or certified safety instruction
8. Changes to This Policy
If the privacy policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
